Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 19:05:15 GMT

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Some people spend Thanksgiving morning exercising before eating their holiday meal. The Troy Turkey Trot is one of the largest and longest-running road races in the country.More than 45,000 people have signed up so far, and this year's race will be a little different than previous ones. The 5K will have a new course. It starts at the corner of Fulton and Fourth Streets and goes over the Green Island Bridge before heading up River Street. The race finishes in Monument Square. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Organizers hope it will be safer for participants since it will go through fewer intersections."The streets are narrow. It's an out and back course, so it's important that we recognize the fact that going out from the start to the Green Island Bridge is very wide, and this will give the ability for runners to string out as they go over," event director George Regan said. The turkey trot also raises money...

Broncos roundtable: Can Denver get above .500 by the time a three-game road trip starts?

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 19:05:15 GMT

Parker Gabriel, Broncos beat reporter: The Broncos are doing their best Will Ferrell impersonation and going streaking. They’ve got three straight wins to get to 4-5 on the season. To make it a quad, they’re going to have to beat Minnesota at home in prime time. In order to be better than .500 (Who’d have considered that conversation in early October?) when a three-game road trip against Houston, the Chargers and Detroit starts in early December, they’ve got to get the Vikings and Cleveland at home the next two Sundays. Can they do it? Minnesota’s hot, too, having won five straight, and the Browns have one of the best defenses in the NFL. But they’re also starting Josh Dobbs (great story and a literal rocket scientist) and Dorian Thompson-Robinson (or P.J. Walker), respectively, at quarterback. Denver squandered a gettable two-game home set to open the season against Las Vegas and Washington. It still feels like a split to me. What do you fine gen...

By Kevin Liptak and MJ Lee | CNNPresident Joe Biden hailed his summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping Wednesday as the two agreed to take steps to curb fentanyl production and restore military communication during their summit. The results, which were expected ahead of the talks, amount to progress in improving the still-tense US-China relationship. During a news conference following the summit, Biden said the negotiations with Xi were “some of the most constructive and productive discussions we’ve had.”“We haven’t always agreed,” Biden said, but his talks with Xi are always “straightforward.”Biden had aimed to use the meeting to put the US-China relationship on steadier footing after months of tension between the two superpowers. Ahead of the talks, US officials were careful to manage expectations, saying they did not expect a long list of outcomes or even a joint leaders’ statement, as is customary after such summits. Biden, Xi met for hours and agreed to ‘pick up the phone’ for any urgent concerns. ‘That’s progress’

WOODSIDE, Calif. (AP) — U.S. President Joe Biden and China’s Xi Jinping emerged Wednesday from their first face-to-face meeting in a year vowing to stabilize their fraught relationship and showcasing modest agreements to combat illegal fentanyl and re-establish military communications. But there were still deep differences on economic competition and global security threats. The most assuring takeaway from the meeting for Biden was that if either man had a concern, “we should pick up the phone and call one another and we’ll take the call. That’s important progress,” he said in a news conference following the talks. The two leaders spent four hours together at a bucolic Northern California estate – in meetings, a working lunch and a garden stroll – intent on showing the world that while they are global economic competitors they’re not locked in a winner-take-all faceoff.“Planet Earth is big enough for the two countries to succeed,” Xi told Biden. The U.S. president t...
